July 2020 Newsletter
Hello Everyone,
The corona virus is still spreading in Nicaragua. Everyone is staying home and parents are afraid to send their children to school and many are without employment. There have been reports of many people with the virus which is devastating for a country with limited medical care for the majority of the people.
In April our staff made the decision to discontinue the face to face feeding programs due to the outbreak of the virus. The decision was made at that time to provide food supplies for at least one meal per day for each family. The basics of beans, rice, oil, sugar, etc. This would include the families that Jesse ministers to each week at the dump. This practice continued during April, May, June and into July.
Last week Addys, Julissa and Fatima made the decision to start serving meals to the children at the activity building. They, along with the feeding program staff thoroughly cleaned everything in the kitchen and prepared for today.
They visited with the mothers of the children to give them a time that each child was to come for their meal. This was a precaution to observe social distancing for the children and our staff. There were two stations set up to help distance the children.
The children were thrilled to see our ladies and thrilled to receive a hot meal. Our staff enjoyed being able to visit with the children even if for a short time.
We look forward to the day that our ministry building and rancho will be filled with children again.
During this time Jesse has chosen to continue to provide food bags for the people at the local dump.
Please join us in praying for the people of Nicaragua. Pray for an end to the virus both here in the US and in Nicaragua.
Pray for our staff as they continue to minister to the needs of the families during this scary time. The Pearl Foundation helps many each week with the purchase of medicine, doctor visits and medical tests. Our staff is on call for the families in need.
A big thank you goes out to our ministry partners, without you it would not have been possible to purchase the extra food for the families over the last three months. Thank you so much. You are a true blessing to many.
May the Lord bless you and keep you well.
Darrell and Linda Hinson
Addys, Julissa, Fatima and Jesse
