Matching Gift Challenge Announced

Starting today through the end of Giving Tuesday, the Soccer Without Borders Board of Directors will be matching donations to our Covid-19 response efforts up to $15,000 in matching funds.


Our vision is a more inclusive world, where all youth have the opportunity to reach their inherent potential. The COVID-19 pandemic compounded the very inequalities we exist to address, including and especially youth isolation.


Too often in times of crisis, voices of young people are not loud enough to be heard. Their losses aren’t easily quantified, and their unmet needs are invisible to the public eye. We see these needs every day. Although the pandemic has shifted many of our activities online, Soccer Without Borders hasn’t missed a beat in serving our participants and communities.


Our core product has never been soccer. Our primary purpose has always been social inclusion. We have always met kids where they are and surrounded them with the community of support they need to thrive. We have always been in the business of combatting isolation with belonging.
That’s why, in this time of unprecedented isolation, our Covid-19 game plan has a clear focus:

Global Day of Giving

Giving Tuesday Now is a global day of giving that aims to accelerate charitable giving to address urgent needs as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. We know that the effects of Covid-19 are substantial and that the need is vast. Our goal is to create a sense of belonging for all members of the Soccer Without Borders community on the day, and invite those who are able to make a donation.

Soccer Without Borders exists to build a more inclusive world. Soccer is the vehicle, but we have always been in the business of combating exclusion and isolation with belonging.

Creating belonging means keeping the ball moving and getting everyone in the game. That’s why Charlie Davies, Yohannes Harish, Ann Cook, John O’Brien, Calen Carr, Michael Chabala, Warren Creavalle, and Soccer Without Borders players and coaches from all over the world are coming together and passing the ball to you.
