Our New Home – Week 1

OK, construction has now begun on our new home. They say it will take 16 weeks but we will see.

It is a little daunting to publish a weekly progress report. What if something disastrous happens? The whole world will see how we screwed up. We won’t give any costs of construction until we are finished and see if the quality is what we expect.

We took the dogs out to the building lot Sunday and we discovered that construction had begun. We were thrilled to see a construction shed had sprung up and elevation boards were in place that show the heights of floors since the ground slopes to the South. Even Amy was getting pumped up.

Construction shed where workers will live during the week. Caretakers will watch the site 24 hours a day until construction is complete.

Elevation boards for ensuring floors are level and outlines the house. We did our first walk through the home and friends have already visited. Amy started arranging imaginary furniture in our imaginary home.
