Nelson & Tanya need help – BORDER CRISIS!

Dear Friends,

More than 500 Nicaraguans are stranded in no-man’s land between Nicaragua and Costa Rica. These individuals lack a COVID19-negative test because they cannot afford to follow the Sandinistas “procedure.” Their own government won’t let them in to their own country!  Corner of Love is sharing hope and feeding this huge group of refugees while advocating for their release. But the need is overwhelming.  Last night we helped a seven year-old girl and her parents complete papers to get out of this inhumane holding area. Due to our intervention, Costa Rican border patrol decided that a child should be exposed to this. Now she is safe – but over 500 people are still here and we are headed back to share hot breakfast with them this morning and continue working towards a solution to this crisis.

Please give what you can to keep us going. Our hearts are breaking seeing how our Nicaraguan brothers and sisters endure the hot sun and sleep outside, using black plastic to shield themselves from the rain. Their clothes are wet and the risk of COVID19 contamination is high with hundreds held in a police-guarded pen. We are here fighting for their human rights and the two meals Corner of Love gives them reminds them of God’s love and faithfulness.  We pray you’ll respond to this urgent call for help!  We are simply without words to describe what this is like.

Love in Christ,
