SOME SIMPLE BASIC HEALTH FACTS

By Dr. Jerry Lee Hoover N.D.

In this article  I want to share just three basic simple health facts that most individuals are not aware of that  can keep a person healthy.

First  simple fact, when someone has a fever, most people believe they should take a medication to lower their  fever, this is the wrong decision and will do more harm than good to one’s health.  When the body has a fever it means that your body has either a bacterial infection or a viral infection and the body’s way of destroying either one is by the body raising its temperature, causing a fever, which will kill the infection naturally.  When one takes a medication to lower their fever, the infection continues to spread. causing the person to get worse, not better.  One of the reasons people believe they should lower their temperature is they have been told if the temperature gets to high they could possibly have a convulsion, but this will not happen if they are drinking plenty of water and do not become dehydrated.

Second simple fact is that when one has diarrhea they should take a medication to stop the diarrhea, this is the wrong thing to do.  Your body has diarrhea because you ate something that was contaminated, so the body wants to eliminate it as soon as possible, thus causing diarrhea.   Whereas if you take a medication to stop the diarrhea, the contaminated food will stay in the body causing you to become worse. not better.

Third simple fact that causes many illness is that individuals do not drink enough water, they replace water with coffee, tea, sodas, etc. but they drink very little water.  Our body is more than 60% water and cannot stay healthy without drinking sufficient amounts of water, as water helps clean the body’s blood stream which nourishes all of the organs in the body.  A dirty blood stream can cause kidney and bladder infections due to the kidneys having to filter out the concentrated impurities in the blood stream.  Our body’s need to be more alkaline than acid and when one does not drink a sufficient amount of water the higher acid content of the blood stream can cause arthritis, muscle aches and pains, gout, skin problems, etc.  Not drinking enough water causes the blood to become thicker than normal, which can raise one´s blood pressure and also restricts circulation to all parts of the body causing eye problems, veracious veins, numbness in the extremities such as the legs.  Diabetes can also be caused by lack of water.  Lack of water can cause respiratory diseases as the lungs are 83% water.  Insufficient water can cause mental problems and fatigue as the brain is 73% water. Other diseases from lack of water are eczema as the skin is (64% water), constipation, gastritis, and others to many to mention.

How often when one is sick with one of these diseases does the Doctor take the time to ask them how much water they are drinking?   The problem is that he does not ask them, he spends as little time as possible per patient and the doctor´s solution to disease is medications.  So how much water does one need to drink every day?  Good question, but it depends upon two main factors, first factor is what does the person weigh, a person weighing 200 lbs needs 100 ounces of water every day, (half of their weight in ounces ), that would be 12 1/2  eight oz. glasses, where as a person who weighs 120 lbs would need 60 ounces of water everyday which is 71/2 glasses per day.  The second factor is what type of work one does, if it is sedentary the figures above are correct, but if their work is hard physical work their water intake needs to be more.  Another simple test to see if you are drinking enough water is the color of your urine, if it is dark with a strong odor you need to be drinking more water.  The ideal color should be just a slight yellow color with little or no odor.

CONCLUSION

Knowledge is the answer to all problems, a car mechanic has the knowledge to repair a car, as he has the knowledge of how a car functions.  But he does not know the many basic simple facts about how his body functions and will suffer when he does not treat his body correctly, such as drinking enough water.  When he gets sick he goes to the Doctor who practices on him., thats right practices on him,

Every year more than two million Americans suffer from serious adverse drug reactions.  According to the U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), these reactions cause about 100,000 deaths per year, making prescription drugs the fourth-leading cause of death in the U.S.

With the internet available to most everyone today, use it to study up on what ever illness or health problem you or your family has.   Our health is one of the greatest gifts God has given us and many do not appreciate it until they lose it.
